The Student Affairs Committee aims at providing students with a enriching living and learning experience at the YELI. This committee designs and implements facilitation programs to create a learning-conducive environment for students’ on-campus life, and promote life-skills for their time spent off-campus. Active in all YELI units, the committee comprises members passionate and experienced in student affairs and who share a common vision of fostering students’ desire to learn, grow, and develop in an energizing and friendly setting. The committee’s areas of activity include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
Comprehensive Orientation for freshmen at YIC, YTI, YUC (male and female), arranged at the beginning of each semester to familiarize new arrivals with the life and study pattern at the YELI.
Student Guidance Booth for the one-to-one guidance and assistance of the freshmen at all campuses.
Student Help Desk is a permanent point of guidance for students at each male and female unit of the YELI.
Attendance and Evaluation Guidance to update the students on attendance requirements and grading criteria of their courses.
Students’ Complaints Unit addressing students’ day-to-day complaints and concerns.
Student Learning Support Program, a semester-long continuous program for those students who are identified as being at-risk of failure and desire one-on-one help for any issue related to their studies.
Remedial Program which runs fir the last two weeks of each semester, to help students prepare for their final examinations.
Academic Skills Workshops are conducted for the attainment of better on-campus and post-campus adjustment and for helping students in learning and developing in-class and out of class study and personal management skills as a student.
Student Recreational Facilities to provide learners with a social context in which to develop their English
