The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback – and accept it. Through the community of leaders, they find their path to leadership.
The principal place of business of Toastmasters International is World Headquarters, located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Toastmasters International employs 140 professionals at World Head Quarters. Led by Chief Executive Officer Daniel Rex, the staff is committed to providing assistance and support in the forms of high-quality products and programs to Toastmasters club, areas, divisions, districts and regions, while also serving the individual members in their efforts to improve their communication and leadership skills.
TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL MISSION
We empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.
Toastmasters offers a proven education program that is divided in to two tracks. Communication and Leadership. The program allows a member to choose one track or both, and each features a series of projects that can be completed at a members’ own pace. A member also has the flexibility to work through each track separately or both at the same time, and can repeat a track as often as he/she wishes. Once a member, one can get started right away. With more than 14,650 clubs in 126 countries, finding a club is easy. It is important to choose a club that fits one’s goals preferences and schedule. One can also visit several clubs before joining a particular club.
A club meeting isn’t set up like a classroom. Instead, it is a supportive group environment where people with diverse skill sets and background come together to practice their skills and exchange valuable feedback. Toastmasters’ proven program can help a member to reach his/her goals. By joining a club, one will gain the skills to become a more confident public speaker and a stronger leader in every area of his/her life.
The Toastmasters International Club, located on the YELI at YIC campus, was established in 2011, and has been a success from its inception.
